Image Description

On our first day of travel we drove across the southern half of Kansas. The only "state" campground shown in the vicinity of where we wanted to stop (near Dodge City) turned out to be a primitive (read: no development whatsoever) campground bordering a fishing lake. Aside from a pair of highly vandalized picnic shelters there were no camping related improvements made to the area-the road wasn't even gravelled.
