I was going to and it is still in my plans to make the shelves slatted similar to the galley shelves; however, in remodeling our house, I salvaged two perfectly good 5 ft. long x 11 inch wide pine shelves and decided to use them in the trailer for now.
Here is the curb-side shelf with footman loops and strap to retain things like extra bedding and clothes. Note the yellow straps hanging from each shelf bracket, these are to hold metal detectors while parked and in camp.
You might also note that both curb- and street-side shelves have small hooks (2 each) at the upper end of shelf brackets for hanging caps, or other small items when parked.
