I'll have the Camp ADK Internet Cafe open on occasion. It will work for you as long as you are within
about 50ft of my dock (thats where the antenna and wifi box are located).

WIFI is also available just outside the campstore (Trading Post).

Dave, it appears as if we may be arriving late Fri night/Sat am around 2am. Will we be able to get on our site at that time? We plan to pull in, get some zzzz's, and then set up camp first thing Sat am. We'll be doing the pre registration on Reserve America later today. I couldn't find any info regarding check in on the Fish Creek Pond site (perhaps I missed it).

Eric if you arrive in the middle of the night, just drive into your site and register first thing in the morning.

Rick -wasn't it last year or maybe the year before when Ray showed up late, he had to stay at a site near the entrance & he had to wait till morning before he could get to his site?

Can't wait to camp!!

Postby TheresaD » Wed Jun 10, 2009 2:30 pm

Hi all! I'm sooooo excited for this trip! I'll be leaving for FCP Friday morning. Weather is looking good. I can't wait to get there and meet some of the awesome people on this forum. Even though I've never met any of you, I like you all already. You are such a great group of kind and supportive people. This weekend is going to be such a treat...plus... I've never seen a real teardrop up close before!!! I'm also hoping to check out some of the ttts that might be there so I can get some inspiration for my 63 13' Scotty Sportsman rebuild. Only one more day to work!!!! See you all Friday!!
BTW- Thanks Dave & Kate for all your hard work putting this event together!

you are goping to LOVE it up there, have you ever been to fishcreek pond before, its the best camping. and what a treat to have so many campers in one spot who will gladly show you what they have and answer all question you have. i am on site 239, I have a 1946 teardrop, very old but very loved. we stripped all the paint off it and gutted the inside and started over, cant let myself paint it again after what I went through getting all the old paint off. and not sure what I wnat to with the inside after I ripped all the old paneling out so want to use it some more untill i know for sure what I want. See you up there

Mary and Bob - Fish Creek was where I went on my first camping trip about 20 years ago with my Sister and her family. I loved it but haven't been back since. I can't wait. I'll be on Site #202 with my tent this year. Hopefully next year I'll have a trailer instead! See you up there!

it is kind of amazing that many of us made reservations last year for this month. my, how this has grown, and it isn't even an 'official' tear drop gathering... just, someone said they would be there on a specified weekend, and how it has blossomed.

Gage left last Tuesday. He plans on being there Thursday. I got an email from him Monday night and he was in Richmond, Indiana with car problems. He was hoping to get back on the road some time Tuesday. Before he left, I told him going that far, he should take the Pilot. He said he was changing his planned route to be sure to get there Thursday.

Rick? Dave? Bueller? Question?

We're starting to get a little nervous about our reservations. We contacted FCP today after completing our pre-registration with Reserve America. First, RA told us that they're glad we called to let them know we'd be arriving late as they won't hold a site for a "no show" even though our reservations are paid in full. We then advised FCP that we'd be in late Friday/very early Sat morning and we wanted to confirm we could go to our site to get some sleep (not set-up camp). They told us they'd check with the Ranger and call us back. After no return call, we called again and they advised us that the Ranger said we CAN NOT go to our site, that we must park OUTSIDE in the beach parking area :x and then come to the gate at 8am.

Keep in mind, the site is already paid for (THURS thru MON), and we're already pre-registered. We're leaving home just hours after a funeral and driving 9hrs straight to ADK. We expected FCP to be a bit more accomodating, especially after explaining our situation to them. We've been looking forward to this event all year. We can only hope our site is still "ours" and not carelessly given to someone else. Any suggestions to improve this situation would be greatly appreciated. :worship:
