Great news Rick! Thanks for stopping over. I like our site, looks great.

See everyone on Friday. We plan to get there about 1-2pm, depending on whether we have an chochkey (spello) stops.

Weather has been great lately in Lake Placid! For the weekend it's looking pretty good, maybe a bit of rain Sunday morning...

Nick's lake

Postby Finntec » Mon Sep 03, 2007 7:25 pm

I too stopped at Nick's lake today. I have pictures of the sites, if anyone wants a photo. I also have pictures of the new restrooms too. :) All are available by request. I think we'll be all set. The sites are mostly large, level and private. Only 4 more days.

arrgh...I can not believe this is happening.
This morning I picked up Madison to crate her, and aggravated the problems I've been having with my lower back and left hip/sciatic nerve.

I've been on bedrest and painkillers all day. I can't pack the truck or the trailer--I can't even move from the couch to the kitchen. Unless things improve overnight, I am not going to be able to come camping this weekend...I can't drive on these meds.

Been there many times, Gaelan. :disappointed: This is where "Darla" takes over and does "EVERYTHING". :awesome: Many who know her can atest to it. Get rest and don't overdo. :relaxing:

Thanks

Postby Gr8Scot! » Mon Sep 10, 2007 8:48 am

I just wanted to take a minute and let everyone know that I appreciate the time you spent answering questions and letting me take pictures.

I enjoyed the campground, hunting through the hardware store, getting some ideas of what to do (and what not to do) when I start to build my TD but most of all, getting to meet and talk with all of you.

Thanks again.

Bill

Looking forward to TearUp 2008...

Sorry we did not stick around on Sunday, with our late arrival on Saturday night, we did not have our canopy & screen room set up so the weather on Sunday morning really put a "damper"(pardon the pun) on our day. We did love the welcoming party & the fireside chat was great & it was nice to see you all again. We went into Old Forge for breakfast & saw Ray drive by
We ended up taking a lovely & wet ride to Lake Placid & stayed at the KOA in Wilmington-we dodged raindrops but were able to get the canopy up so we could cook & get in & out of the toter without getting wet.

Hope to see some of you one more time before winter sets in!!!

I am *really* bummed that I couldn't make it.
I know staying home and resting up was the smart choice, but I'm not used to choosing smart. ;) But I can say that after a weekend of Lyrica (now there's better living through chemistry...) and pretty much no moving around, the pain is down to a dull roar and I am much better. Made it through the whole day without chemical assistance today--progress!

But I do wish I could have gotten to meet everyone. Next time. Who knows--I might even have put new locksets in the SunSpot, patched up all the old screwholes and built new awnings by then!

Had a great time at the Teardown. The brunch was fantastic. Good to see everyone again.

Had a quiet Sunday & night at Nick's L after everyone left. Had light showers on one hour - off the next - all day, evening, & night. We were the only people on loop B. Thanks Dave and Kate for the firewood - it warmed our evening.

Drove to Fish Creek Monday & set up on site 50. Missed the strong thunderstorms predicted for Tue night. Campground is probably about 75% full up to site 160 - all that is open. We will be staying until sometime next week.
