Storm Hits Fish Creek - June 10th

Postby campadk » Tue Jun 10, 2008 7:07 pm

Was just checking in at our storage place north of Fish Creek. The area was hit pretty hard by a huge storm at about 7 pm today, with high winds and rain. There is a lot of damage and trees down everywhere. Not one of the area webcams seem to be online so haven't seen any visuals yet.

LUCKILY it sounds like Fish Creek was spared somewhat (I just called the park). They have several trees across the roads and some down on campsites. No-one was reported hurt. The park staff is on top of the situation and they expect to have the park cleaned up by tommorrow.

Hopefully Chuck and Barb, Kurt and Jeanine, Al and Leslie survived unscaved, as they are all supposed to be there today.

This reminds me of the TearUp #2 I believe it was when a wild storm ripped through Fish Creek. Lets hope the rest of the week is a bit less dramatic!

See everyone there!

Let me be the first to say, that as usual, the Spring TearUp the ADK was another rousing success!!! We had 28 trailers with campers from 10 states and 2 Canadian provinces! And the farthest traveled came from Hawaii! Although there were some storms for the early arrivals, the weekend weather was perfect!
It was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones and once again I'm already looking forward to next year. Thanks Dave & Kathy!

We all truly enjoyed our stay at Fish Creek! Each year we find it harder and harder to leave, despite the fact we were there for 10 days we still wanted more! We all truly enjoyed ourselves, thanks to everybody for joining us for our evening campfires it sure made our life easier and Laura espeically enjoyed her nightly party! Dave thank you very much for Lauras boat ride and starting this whole big party! We really appreciate, in the past 4 years we have made great friends and had great times soo until the next time, Happy Camping! See you around the campfire!

Had a great time as always. Thank goodness the weather pulled through for the pot luck. So much good food once again. The prizes were fantastic. Wait until you see the pictures of the vintage dress up. Good Job.
