Spring TearUp - Fly-In/Fly-Out Option

Postby campadk » Sun Sep 21, 2008 8:35 am

A new feature of the TearUp this year will be the option to fly-in/fly-out on the ponds.

Simply land on one of the ponds, then park your plane by your campsite.

Note: Please be considering of others using the waterways if you choose to arrive by plane!
Might be a good option for Marc and April considering their hectic schedule

Canoeists, kayakers, boaters and flyers... we all get along at Fish Creek!

Taking off on the south east pond passing by site 251... no sweat!

I'm trying to keep up with emails etc and adding everyone to the participants list, but it does appear from analyzing Reserve America that sites 234-246 are TearUp participants booking 3-5 or so days.

Sites 247, 248, 249 and 250 meanwhile, are booked for longer periods of time. This could well be a family/group who either are indeed camping then, but for 2 weeks, or a group that has reserved early hoping to 'roll over' their reservations into July. If the later is the case, then these sites may well free up in a few weeks.... but we can't count on it.

Considering the above, I would suggest campers who are looking to reserve a site book ASAP to keep the group together. Pick the closest sites to the bottom end, ie site 233, 232, 231, 230 etc etc. These are all still great sites, and you'll have the added benefit of having a prime location for viewing those fine sunsets!

Cheers

Yes I revised it... I used to edit the html page by hand.. which is a pain with all the changes, and updating other pages on the site as well.

I've now automated the process so I just have to edit a simple data file and voila... the page is rebuild... MUCH easier.

Anyways everyone to date should be on. I've indicated a few sites that appear to be someone from our group booking 3 or 4 days, but for which I don't know who they are? Did that make sense?

I've also indicate sites that appear to be someone outside the group.

Let me know if I have anybody's info wrong. Also if you don't have a photo to go along with your entry, you can email or point me to one to use... if you wish that is.

Nope... one camping unit on axels per site. Making exceptions would great huge problems for the park.

There are lots of sites open, even below 224. In order to keep the group together without too many 'holes', it will mean that campers should book in the fall rather than waiting until winter to book as Fish Creek. Remember there were still lots of vacancies in the 180-200's last year.

Banners this year? Don't worry, we are going to be making one, maybe 2 items... its on the todo list for this winter... along with our camp sign!
