 Well it doesn't look like I'm going to make it. I'm having vehicle problems. I hope everyone has a great time. I'll get a chance to meet everyone at the Spring TearUp. 8)

My wife is in Grad school and we didn't know if we could make it, but decided to show up and get a site, although we also had some serious problems.

We made it about halfway (2.5 hours) from Rochester while it was raining pretty heavy the whole way, but had to turn back. We've driven in the rain before, but apparently the temperature/humidity or something made our door warp just a little and not seal properly. We have carpet inside and there was literally a couple gallons of water soaked into it. Our bedding and mattress were possibly usable, but we had to get the thing dried out. I've had a fan, space heater, and dehumidifier running in it all night and it is still pretty wet. I sucked out a bunch of water with the shop vac too when we got home last night. Doesn't look like there will be any permanent damage other than some places on the walls that are roughed up.

It was not fun and we really wanted to get away for the weekend.

We're back from the Fall Camporee. What a blast! Although Friday was a bit on the wet side, it cleared up Saturday morning, and warmed up nicely for the tail gate party. Lots of photos will be posted no doubt. Many of us had cameras snapping away. Even had a fine sunset and bright full moon on Saturday!

A big thanks to Rick and Diane for organizing things and putting on a great tail gate party. As always, the fall get together is one of our favorite events of the season... even if it rains every time! ha ha.

Was funny to have passed Al and Leslie and their Camp-Inn who were heading back from Lake Placid, headed home perhaps? Did anybody else see them around Tupper Lake?

Will post some photos later.. have to unpack.

Cheers

Back from the Fall Tear down and awake after a long nap. I am feeling a little better. I think chocolate ice cream might help!

What a great site and beautiful campground! After the rain stopped Friday(yes, it always rains), Sat was wonderful. Nice mostly sunny day with friends and the afternoon tailgate party was a great theme for the fall gathering. We had lots of food around the campfire as usual, a nice sunset off the point to match the color of the campfire, and a full moon rising over Bear Mt., still later, the full moon and stars reflecting on the waters of Cranberry Lake.

Its sad to think that its the last one of the year, and it will be a while before we all get together in the spring, but pictures will follow to remind everyone of the fun we all had.

Those who didn't make it were thought of and missed. Hope everyone is safe, day, and back home (or still having fun camping). Thanks to Rick & Diane for organizing this great gathering.

See you in the spring or before. :woohoo:

Becky and I had a great time with all of you this weekend. Great job on the tailgate party, Rick and Diane. We came home to a beautiful sunny afternoon. Had tents and tarps spread all over the driveway and lawn so they would dry out. Thank you for the coffee and muffins this morning Mary and Bob. ( They fell for the old " our stove is broke " line ) Hope you all made it home safely, Ed.

Yup, that was Al and Leslie! They must have been returning after their volunteer job at the LOJ (Marcy trail head).

Forgot about that... could have went over to visit them while we were in Lake Placid!

We were driving with the Camp-Inn from the ADK Loj towards Cranberry Lake Sunday morning. Guess the Airstream we saw in Tupper Lake was Dave and Kate. We had just seen another one between Saranac and Tupper. We also saw the white teardrop.

We had hoped to get our last slices of pizza at Little Italy and eat at the boat launch in Tupper but they weren't open.

We were in a bit of a hurry to get back to Ohio as our first grandson is due in less than two weeks with some signs of being early. We are currently camping near Columbus patiently waiting. Colors here are 3 or so weeks behind the ADK's, but they never match the sugar maples and birches of northern NY.

Sorry we missed the TearDown but we had set our volunteer week earlier in the year.

Leslie was convinced that we would run into Rick and Diane parked at a good restaurant on Rt. 3. No such luck!

See everyone next June!

Still looking for the owner of some miscellaneous pink flamingo items from FCP in June

Allen- You guys were hot on our trail, we saw the same Airstream you did, but if you consider breakfast sandwiches and coffee from Nice & Easy wolfed down in the truck a good restaurant, Leslie was way off the mark.
