TearJerkers Garden State Chapter will be having its second Gathering of the year in North Jersey.

August 27-28 & 29, 2010

at

Swartswood State Park

http://www.state.nj.us/dep/parksandfore ... swood.html

We will be staying in the area of.....13-21 are the best, 29-33 are OK too. That's 14 spots. If we need to overflow 5-12

Some photos of the Park

BTW our "Scout" tells us the Bath houses were Clean.

This park has been Scouted and is a nice little out of the way Park where we have been told by staff that the Rangers are a little more friendlier.

There is a rule that they strictly enforce at Stokes and Worthington State Parks of not having more than 6 people on a Campsite....even for a Campfire OR Pot Luck Dinner.

All are welcome. You need not be a member of TearJerkers or even own a Trailer.

A Pot Luck Dinner is planned for Saturday night, followed by a Rip Roaring Campfire supplied by our Assistant Director Bill "The Torch" Hossfield

So Comon' out and enjoy our Chapters second Gathering.

Please, let us know if you will be attending.

Happy Trails

Len

I just got back from a camping trip to Swartswood State Park, and have posted pictures of the sites, and the campground.

Check them out at http://teartime.com/Camping%20Trip%20Four.html

Somehow I missed site 17.... old age I guess.

Hi

We would be interested, but "no pets" is a deal breaker. :(

Its not us, its Jersey.

Jersey is starting to let pets in at some parks though.

We were at Parvin State Park and there was a Pet Camping area.

Yes, but there are plenty of good private campgrounds in NJ. (With no silly rules like 6 per site for a pot luck.) We have been camping in NJ for the past 30 years at pet friendly places and it's become more the norm.

Glad to see there is finally a "pilot" program at a couple of NJ parks.

I recently discovered that Turkey Swamp allows pets on all sites even though it's a public campground (because it's Monmouth County not State).

Looking forward to some TD/TT/Vintage action in the metro NJ area so we don't have to travel so far ($$$) to get to a meet. Sad there is such a lack of activity in this area, IMO.

Keep up the good work, Len

Two things working against me for this event - 1) Planned road trip to Campobello Island, Canada :worship: and 2) no dogs  .
Turkey Swamp is pet friendly and a nice campground, located near my home. Have walked the park but never camped....will try soon.
There are 3 State Parks which allow pets in their "pilot program" started last year. Web site would have specific parks.
You have to down load and fill out a registration and certification form prior to arriving at the park.
Could any one send info regarding host organization, for future ralleys / gatherings? Or is there a link some where I missed?

Len,
I don't know if we have time to come up there (we're a little over an hour away) but will you be there with your Scotty?
It would be fun to see what a nice Scotty looks like. My boys refer to ours as the rotten camper.
...Assuming you didn't get a really early start and can't reply.

What a good time was had by all!

I want to thank everyone for making me feel so welcome! I was a bit apprehensive when I walked up to the group on Friday night, but was very quickly made to feel welcome and a part of a real nice group of people.

Pics to be posted soon!
