Seeing as this gathering is only a short 2.5 months away I'd thought I'd chime in to give you guys some links that I follow almost on a daily basis. Since you all will be in the area of 2 of the best parks in the country, Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks, (IMHO) there is a multitude of info about the parks out there. These links I consider are some of the best and most complete info to find any kind of info wether it would be campgrounds, geysers, scenic areas, animal sightings & the like.

#1 http://yellowstone.net/ YNET is what I consider the best, most up to date website on Yellowstone on the internet. Check out the forum section for great reads on what is happening in the park at any given time. http://forums.yellowstone.net/index.php

#2 http://www.yellowstone.co/ This site is also ran by a friend of mine, John Uhler. Deals mostly w/ Yellowstone but you'll also find some stuff on GTNP.

Thanks Bruce, I will check these links out. Several of us are going to Yellowstone and the Tetons before or after the gathering. We are getting excited! The chatter should pick up soon as we get ready!

I'll be backpacking in the Tetons that week. Had this arranged before the Walk The Winds. If my trip falls through, I hope to show. Hopefully WtW happens again in 2013!

At the June Jefferson State gathering, we had to use a propane "fake" campfire. People still came.

It's not a campfire that draws 'em, Slow. It's you and the great state of Wyoming!

UPDATE.....Mike and I have been talking about the gathering coming up. With some fires out west we decided to call the Ranger District in Pinedale to see what the condition of the camp ground was. The lady I talked to said the CG was in fine shape. There have been no fires near by and at this time there is NO burn ban. So camp fires and charcoal cooking are still OK. Yes this could change but lets hope things stay as they are. We will keep in contact with the Ranger as we get closer. She also assured me that we could get 30 units in this group site. So all of you that are on the fence jump down and sign up!!! Keep an eye on this site as we will start to make some plans for the gathering.

See ya all soon!

Took the time to snatch a couple of pics off Google Earth of the New Forks Lakes Area.

The 1st is an overview from the road on in to the lake. The Yellow push pin is I believe the group camp site.

Image

The 2nd is a closeup of said group camp site. The red "X" is a measurement of 100' X 200'. Looks like plenty of room for 30-40 trailers.

Looks like you can move me to the "For Sure" list. I'm 95% sure I'll make it. (I'm self-employed, so ya never know what may come up)

I was thinking of going over on the 4th to get some photos but I ended up doing farm work.

I am hoping to get over before the gathering this month and get some good photos.

I got a spot job today and I got a yearling hefer packing some fence wire aroudn this evening and needing to be put in a chute and have the wire cut of her foot tommow.

right now money is short again and yours truly is getting most my gas mula.

for some reason my suvs nose lately when I get a break is pointed due eats to casper instead of west to pinedale.

seems to me some little brunette has got me wrapped around her finger when I get the time off to even think about pinedale.

Ok, here's a few shirts I did today. I also have purple and pink transfer media (image). I don't have every color in every size, so if you have a preference just ask!

Are you still taking orders for shirts? We would like the black w/white print, 1-small, 1-xl. They look great! Too hot to work outside, 103 deg.,so maybe I'll bottle some wine. :wine: Even that sounds like work today.
Thanks,
Grant
