I take it your refering to Colter Bay. This is the only campground that Grand Teton Lodge Co runs. They have an area for dry camping for $20 a night or a Full hookups for $50-$60. Never stayed there but I have driven thru it. Looks Nice. But anything in GTNP is nice. We prefer Signal Mtn Campground cuz its closer to Oxbow and Jenny Lake.

Here's a pic of us campin there last Sept under a full moon.

And just around the corner at Oxbow Bend.....

We love Yellowstone & the Tetons.

I live 90 miles from jackson and am a wyoming native. if it was me skip the high priced camp ground in jackson hole and head up towbatee pass toward dubois go a few miles and find a boon docking spot and get to camp for free.

then just hook up the teardrop and drive down into jackson and yellowstone and grand teton park to look it over. no need to pay jackson camping rates.

I bet even at the lodge on top at the divide or the top of towbetee you can at a normal rv park get it cheaper than any where down in around jackson hole.

find a natinol forest spot. they are like only 15 dollars a night.

skip the high pricest national parks places.

but if it was a locals desion. I would with the short milage just camp in dobois and drive the pass to jackson hole to see grand teton park and yellowstone. its like only a 40 to 30 mile diffrence.

if its even that. you can be in jackson hole in a hour from dobois.

everything around jackson hole and yellowstone and Grand teton in that hole valley is way over priced and way over rated.

but if you want a beatiful trip and wonderful photos go for it. but its just my local boy opeion but I think 50 dollars for a camping spot is a rip off.

pizza guy. I still love that photo of the full moon you took since I first saw it on here.

just another photo nut. but did you use a flash to get the full moon shot?

don't want to sound rude on my opeion of jackson hole prices. but yes. Pizza guy is right and as a wyoming native I will say too the price of the campground is worth the extra dough.

the tetons and jackson lake are a sght not to miss and yellow stone is great too.

I just never was turned on my the turisty prices of jackson hole or the aspen colorado type of people over there in that valley.

but the scenery and vacationing over there is awsome!!!!

don't forget if you go to grand teton park to go to teton village and take a ride on the cable car or the tram up to the top of the teton moutains.

its a trip of a life time and your camera will wear its batterys out form the time you get in the tram or cable car down at the bottom at teton village and from the time you get to the top of adventure peak!!!!

don't miss the ride on the tram!!!!!

Slow, is that Togwotee Pass you're talking about?

Are there campgrounds there? Looks pretty nice
Definitely a "back-door" into that area I might consider checking out...

Yes. thats thats the pass I am talking about. I am just real real terrible at spelling and I hardly can pronounce it. Try brooks lake camp ground by the lake down on the bottom on the dobois side.

its a great national forest one and not to be missed.

theres a boon dock spot by wind river lake right by the highway and a nice little lake. but if your not paying attention you can miss wind river lake easly.

theres the lodge right on top the pass by the jackson side. and once by dubois the world is unlimeted. boon docking to your hearts content. millons of moutain creeks with unlimeted fishing lots of offroading down modrate gravel roads and its got bears in some spots but then the fishing just gets bettor there.

Brooks lake is welll marked on the highway about 10 miles in down a well maintatined but wash boardy a bit gravel road. well known camp ground in the area and superivesed with a regualar care taker. has regulaar national forest bathrooms and I think its like 15 a night to camp. the lake and the creek have wonderful fishing and the don't forget the camera the pinecals or moutain side cliffs above the lake.

I might have a photo of th area on my personal album.

sorry jeff I have not taken the lake cruise and problay would just launch my own big boat if I was to get on the lake. I have not spent a lot of time in side grand teton other than going by for the last 22 years down the highway to jackson hole and over to teton village.

I worked a summer up in jackson on a dude ranch right out of highschool and spent time exploring the valley on my days off. but I never for some reason bothered to go check grand teton out. i guess staring at the grand and the rest of the fabolus moutains from the highways was good enough for me.
