I am thinking around March 09 early spring.

If the weather good for camping in place called VALLEY of FIRE!

Some how after a long winter Valley of Fire is sounding like a good place to be.

Maybe, the NV folks could fire up the Bar-B?

We might still be plowing snow by then...

great location,

We have a time-share in Las Vegas, spent the whole day there on a couple occasions, lots to see between the red rock formations and the petroglyphs, with Lake Meade in the background, driving and/or hiking. March/April time frame should be good, a bit too hot after early June.

remember SCTT/Lake Perris is March 26-29

There a place to camp just East of Valley of Fire too.

It's free camping. Just a hard rock open area with view that's not to bad.

It on the road to Hover Dam and Overton, NV I think. It's on the map if can find my map. LOL

If things get dull there Las Vegas only fifty miles or so down the road...

Valley of Fire is one of my favorite locations. Just north of Lake Mead and south of I-15. It takes about an hour to get there from Vegas. I don't think you will be disappointed by the scenery!

Here's a link to Valley of Fire photos on my website:
http://www.asolidfoundation.com/vf_01.shtml They have a group use area that get's reserved about as soon as it's available. There are also quite a few first-come first-served sites as well. I'm not sure if there are any sites that you can reserve ahead of time.

Early March might still be pretty cool. Of course if we have an early spring it will be beautiful there.

Great pictures you guys.
The camping area in the park, looks nice with lot of room to hang out and enjoy the peace and quite. Without huge motor home grinding away (generator) all day parked right next to ya...

The area is looking better and better.
It has everything! Lake Mead, Hover Dam, Las Vegas, great camping sites, great climate, a NASCAR track near by, hiking, it on the way to everywhere too...

That may be a great time to get out of the snow and warm up. I would bet there is some mountain biking there.

Good news. My wife, a teacher, is on spring break.

Maybe this should be moved to the "South West" forum.

It may be getting lost here.
