Irish Festival on the Eastern Shore of Maryland - May 2013

Hello,

I am organizing an Irish Festival on the Eastern Shore of Maryland - May 18th 2013! Four campsites around the region. Bayshore in particular is right by the water. A lot of music, culture and fun. Stop by the Facebook site and say hello!

The Facebook site has been taking up a large amount of my time and the organization effort to get all the bands, the beer, the sponsors(Guinness and Tullamore Dew) etc. It has been a tremendously rewarding and draining task thus far. Things however are progressing extremely well and we're expecting a very very large turnout. I have posted on the Facebook site, campgrounds that are around the general vicinity of the festival. I understand that many of you are not fans of using Facebook, however, it is the quickest most efficient and I will admit, the cheapest method of getting the word out. We're running a limited run of print posters but the vast majority of it is downloadable and printable for the fans of the site to distribute any where they can. We have contests running about who can put the poster in the furthest geographical location from the festival site and who can put it in the most place. It is measured by user pictures and posts of their FB smartphone check ins. Prizes awarded are the winners of each free admission to the festival, a free beer bought by my Band, "Nua" and Tommy McCann of Belfast, Ireland, my partner in crime and music will personally sing to the winners, "The Unicorn Song". He hates that song with all his might but he'll sing it for the winners. We're planning team tug-o-wars, a pub stage with traditional music, a ceilli dance in the evening. Bands that are confirmed to play are:

Brendhan Phelan - Washington DC/Baltimore, MD - Balladeer
The Hedgerows & Dogs Among the Bushes - Washington DC/Baltimore, MD - Traditional
Maggie's Leap - Baltimore, MD - Irish Band
Grass Monkey - Roanoke, VA - Bluegrass Fusion
Crossing Celtic - Baltimore, MD - Irish/Celtic Rock
The Rogues - Maryland/Canada - Irish Cetic Rock (Bring your Kilts on this one!)
Nua - Baltimore, MD
Blackthorn - Philadelphia, PA - HEADLINER!!!!!

That is the festival news. Now, while I have proven adept at organizing festivals and moving the heavens . I know two things about Tearjerker gatherings, "Diddley" and his younger brother, "Squat." What do you need? What do you look for in a campground besides the ability camp in groups? Let me know. I don't always check in here. Sarah told me you were talking about the festival. I will look when I can but you can reach me through FB at the above FB link, "Shore I'm Irish Festival". of at [email protected]. Just add something about camping in the message and I'll know.
