TPWD is now allowing reservations for Tyler State park March 18-20, 2016 There are only 18 sites in Lakeview loop and we want to reserve the entire loop. This teardrop and otherwise cool camper group is laid back like us and open to any kind of trailer like us with no dues.

They are just on Facebook but if interested, Reserve for the Lakeview loop March 18-20. I'll keep it up to date here. Sites are right on the lake. I am the only member of this group going so far so we have plenty of opportunity to take the remaining 8 spots and OWN the loop and meet new friends.

I got our site in Lakeview but even if it fills up, there are another 38 sites nearby. Funny thing is that the group of sites nearby don't allow for tents. Odd. Are there bears or hogs do you think?

Cindy, their website says tents won't fit! That is just silly after seeing the place, but there must be a reason beyond that eh?

I read a report somewhere that there were hogs around that area. Would that be a reason not to have a tent? Sounds like a reason to have a smoker to me.

Oh absolutely... Its East Texas so there are definitely hogs around! I just thought it was funny the site said that a tend wouldnt fit in those sites, very strange!

Maybe they're just trying to keep property values up?

This is a copy and paste from the park info in the reservation site, looks like they are very serious about it too!

"Big Pines". Sites have picnic table, fire ring and/or grill. These are 50 amp sites. TENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THIS AREA, THEY WILL NOT FIT. Sewer has been restored in this area and 2 dump stations are available."

Status update... Unbelievably there are still 8 sites available in the Lakeview loop! 10 of the 18 sites are already reserved and 100% of these 10 sites are from the Southwest Teardrop n Vintage group. Do you want to camp next to a 5th wheel? We have an opportunity to reserve a whole loop.

we have a space in Lakeview Loop, but there are no more available. Others have started booking in the Big Pine area.

I'm coming....... Put me in there too! I'm booked for 3 nights March 17-20 in Big Pine!

Not sure I'll be able to keep up with the roaster on this one. People from this group the SW Teardrop and Vintage group and the Texas Vintage Trailer club are all coming! The LakeView loop is full and people are reserved in both the Big Pine and Cedar Point loops. Big Pine is closer to LakeView and Cedar Point has more treed sites. I count roughly 25 trailers and sire are almost gone. I Think 6 in one loop and 15 in the other if memory serves. This will be a good one folks!

We'll be attending! Our first camp with the group! Reserved for the Big Pine area.
