Hi, I did a search, but either my skills are weak or not there. Anybody know of any sources of 1/8" (apprx) 5' by 5' plywood in SA area? This will be exterior and interior walls. Thanks, Dan

Where did you look? I think DIY's get too focused in on the box stores. Menards, Home Depot, and Lowes.

Get on your phone and call up the lumber yards and ask for 1/8" Baltic Birch.

Here's your list: https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=c ... io+plywood

Thanks for the PM and reply, Gives me some thing to work with, I have a couple of options at this time as far as my construction, so when i get a bit closer to those walls, I'll make some calls.

Near Chicago we have a few specialty lumber stores. They sell Baltic Birch 5 X 5 FT sheets 1/8". Some places call it Finnish Birch. I just bought 4x8 sheets of 1/8th inch birch for 8 bucks a sheet at a trailer salvage store. You might also try smaller custom cabinet shops. They can order things from distributors that big box stores don't, or won't do for you.

If there is a McCoys near you I believe they can order it. Also here in Dallas I bought my materials at Central Hardwoods.

Try Dixie Ply. They are a wholesaler but would steer you in the right direction.

Wanted to bump this post for newer people like myself here in Central Texas or South Texas.. :) At a loss at finding 1/8" x 5' x 5' lauan or birch plywood here locally in Temple Tx.. I spent the day determined to get what I needed for the Raven's Nest Build..

I found the following in Austin... Might be worth the drive if you can't find it closer to you in San Antonio..
https://www.finelumber.com/solid-panel-inventory
What they have on the list they keep in stock... When I called they were very helpful..

I've found it a common practice for lumberyards to order what they don't have in stock.

I thought so too, Tony
Apparently our main lumber yard. Has went commercial. (Selling to contractors).
Was a disappointment. :(
Years ago when I had a small cabinet shop.. They would sell to everyone. If they didn't have it they would order it..
And the quality was excellent..
Now say they can't compete with the big box stores on most things.

Nope. That's near Lee's Ferry in northern Arizona.

Time/ energy and money constrained me to using standard 4x8. With the magic of PL glue, it's all good.
