With the various types of tears being built, not much is mentioned aon wheel size. the 8' Cubby for instance, what size are the running? On my 10' tear I have at the moment 15" wheels, only because they were free.
My Atwood levelers don't reach the ground. Would 14" do me anygood?

From the help all of you gave me about the 1/4" gap around the door worked out great, and the door fit perfectly. The only mistake I made was putting my fingers in the battery powered skill saw on the end of the last cut. I sure hope none of you do such a stupid thing. My question: Does one cut the window hole before or after the skin goes on?

Jason, Amusing how we,re thought of as a colony squeezed into a little box up in the corner of the map. ;) Anyway, heading south today with my faithful huskie, April, for a couple of days at Denali. Then on to Anchorage to visit family & friends. Maybe, we'll see you on the trail. :) fred

Alaska to Hawaii

you,re right there. ironically the price of gas is higher in Alaska than America. however, to get to Hawaii from here at 50 below, i'd have to put skiis on the teardrop & tow it with a dog team down the Yukon 600 mi. or so to Unalakleet (no roads) to put it on my boat. then break ice for awhile before reaching warmer climes. 8)

I know that Alaska is a far away place, but a lot of people come up here year in and year out.
It would be nice to see how many teardroppers are in our great state, and get together for a rally some where.
I know of three, Goldstream Valley, Anchorage and Soldotna. Anymore out there.

Jim,

Jim - Alaska's not far away - it's right out the cabin door. :D It's all those others that are far from the 'Great Land' of 'The Last Frontier'. Anyway, do you have your trailer finished? Almost time to switch from tires to skiis. Up here it might be this week. A gathering? How about Deadhorse or at least Atigan Pass for the Equinox? The North Slope is at it's best this time of year - Northern Lights, colors & all those critters. Otherwise, if you're a good rally organizer and have the time, we'll invite all the Lower 48 folks to teardrop camping paradise next mosquito season. Fred - The worlds' farthest North teardrop builder.

Speaking of the Northern Lights...
I've been told that sometimes up there, you can even hear them...
Any truth to that?

You bet you can, Dean - Especially, if you play a good tune or sing out any way you're good at. The Lights will even weave your beat. 8)

That's fine by me because I'm a percusionist.
Alaska is on my list!
