If you do get pulled over by a chippy, that would be a good time to insist that it's NOT really a trailer you're towing...just an addition to your trunk.
But, seriously, you should pay SOME attention to the signs of 55 when towing, especially if you are in an orange signed construction area, (traffic fines doubled), and then use your discretion about going faster depending on where you are.
If there are a number of vehicles moving along, I say go with the flow. However, there are stretches of 101 that have lots of wide open spaces with little traffic. Many of these areas are patrolled by aircraft and CHP officers in black and white marked patrol cars.
How about some input/suggestions from you other Californians...what would you recommend? It's the speeding ticket LOTTO - you never know when your number might come up and the officer needs it to make his quota.
