George,
Thanks for posting that link. Dave and Liz should really like that one.
For those of you that weren't at the gathering... Liz spotted a forest fire that was just starting on a ridge top to the North East of us, while she and Dave were down at the river swimming. We reported it to the authorities and within a short time, air support dowsed the flames. With aircraft flying around and a helicopter retrieving water right out of the river, this added quite an interesting atmosphere to the gathering...
Yeap... Dave & Liz's actions probably saved a pretty big chunk of redwood forest.

BTW- The Eureka Reporter is going to be doing a feature story about the IRG in the Travel section of tomorrow's paper.

Thanks for posting the link. We are flattered that they would print that one with all the really good looking folks that were attending the IRG.

What a great time! The setting was fantastic, the food outta' site and really great folks to share all of it with. Not much room for improvement but I am sure that TDN and Guest will figure out something!

Nice job Dean and Joanne!!! :applause:

Eureka Paper

Postby The Teardrop Nanny » Tue Aug 01, 2006 9:15 am

8) Good Morning and thanks for all the kind words.
A check of this morning's paper, Tuesday, did not yet reveal a TD article yet, so check again on Wed.

And the quick actions of Liz & Dave that resulted in the helicopter arriving added to the atmosphere of the event. A surprise wedding, helicopters flying.....wonder how we'll top all that?? Give me a while......

I heard something about an inflatable hot tub.....Then it was upgraded to a redwood hot tub. A Redwood hot tub in the Redwoods.

Got an email from Sharon Letts, the reporter...
They originally had our story slated for Monday's paper, but decided to put us on the cover for todays paper, but that got nixed, I think, because local environmentalist Tim McKay passed away. We are now slated for Sunday's paper (8-6) in the Life section. They are also going to be doing an article on DO cooking in the Home section on 8-16.

I'll say it first, the reporter and photographer the paper sent were a couple hotties.

Was the giggling before or after the pillow fight? Because we all know from TV and music videos that whenever girls have a sleepover, a pillow fight will erupt some time during the night. When this happens, feathers will fly all about the room/tent.

Nanny Says No No, Boys

Postby The Teardrop Nanny » Fri Aug 04, 2006 12:10 am

8) Boys,

Your wives may not, but Nanny does.

They were PYT, weren't they? I tried to get the fat, ugly ones with warts-

but, they said we deserved the BEST they had. We're worth it. Be good,

your tickets are in the mail.

I told the girls when they finished shooting me that if they would mail me one, I would autograph it and return it.
