Terry and I want to thank all of you that came to our first hosted gathering. We had a really good time seeing our old friends and the new friends we met. All worked out well even though we had rain on Saturday. We had 18 or 19 teardrops show up.

Here are some pictures we took. There are a bunch of them. I will upload them slowly over the next few days.

Johnny and Terry, you were wonderful hosts! Thank you so much for all your efforts. We had a great time. I think the weather added some good memories as well as bringing some of us together, under the tarps and around the fire pits, to know each other better.

A huge thank you to Johnny and Terry for hosting a really great gathering. Norma and I enjoyed it immensely. As you could see Norma has a problem maintaining body temperature. In spite of that she had such a good time and wanted to thank one and all for their concerns and help ( she is such a good sport ! ). I will watch the forum and definetly will sign up for next year. A few picture tales about Falling Tears: No tears fell. (...That I know of!)

We had a view of the Washoe Valley and Washoe Lake from our campground:

Image

Signs said "Beware of Bears" and it got windy and cooler. So, we kept our tow vehicles close and our trailers closer and stayed safe and warmed ourselves with friendships, behind all those vehicles! Here is a picture of the vehicles, huddled at the one end of the campground circle:

Image

and at the other end of the campground circle:

Image

At night, we gathered around propane fire pits. (There were many people taking pictures of this; so, I didn't.)

On Saturday, even though rain clouds were threatening:

Image

We hiked to the pond, taking one wrong turn; back-tracking, and getting there just as the sprinkles started to fall. (Maybe those were the falling tears!):

Image

As the rain began to fall more earnestly, we high-tailed it home, via the campground road:

...My pictures just gave you a peek of the sights. Every time I gathered with people, I got involved in conversations and forgot to take photos!
More pictures will come from others, I'm certain. There were some very good shots taken by some folks.
Thanks, again, to Johnny and Terry for hosting such a wonderful gathering and making us all feel at home with your warm smiles and friendly, caring ways.

Lynn and I had a great time meeting new teardrop friends. Violet said she liked the new friends she met also. Many thanks to Johnny and Terry for setting this up. We hope we didn't make a nuisance of ourselves early Sunday morning as we were packing up. We knew we had a long drive ahead of us. What with the road closure delays on Tioga Pass and a 45 minute stop to clear an accident, We finally made it home safe and sound about 6pm. We look forward to seeing everyone again.

Thanks! to Johnny & Terry from me, Kay, & Bird!

Sorry we had to bail out Saturday evening, but the cold and the Bird were not getting along ... ...! We had a good time while we were there, though, and we'll look forward to another one (hopefully with warmer temps ... or a Bird sitter).

BTW ... that new/old KIT did very well for its first time out in over 48 years! It was a bit tight (and way short on storage), but we did all right ... ;) ...!

Thanks! again, and as always ...

CHEERS!

We all sat around in a ring around the four propane fire rings and talked about... teardrops.

John and Terry,

We missed you guys! We are so sorry! Looks like it was great fun with some familiar faces and a great location. Even if we were able to make it, I put it on my calendar for the wrong date. We would have been showing up for this upcoming weekend wondering where everyone was :?

I'm looking forward to the spring when we have more time. Its been quite a hectic few months! We have been able to do some yard and driveway camping in the Shelleymooner and also took it down to San Simeon this summer.

Good job on putting together what looks like a fun gathering!

Great gathering Johnny and Terry!!!

We had an excellent time. Even our Nevada fall weather couldn't dampen the spirits of the group! I'll have to retrieve my camera from the AT (forgot to grab it before storing), and get my pictures up.

Thank you so much for all you did for us,

Dave & Lisa
