It was unique indeed.

First of all the rock had a picto panel on the other side:

There were peregrine falcons nesting on the cliffs above it. And this fella was living in the rocks and paid us a dinner visit:

And then Todd aka KTM_guy and his wife rendezvoused with us and I got a tour of his first-class build.

Is that Bears Ears? Can you tell us where you traveled?

We did spend weeks in the Bear's Ears. And east to Hovenweep and west to Boulder City over the Burr Trail. We planned a visit to Chaco Canyon but a forecast of winds to seventy miles an hour sixteen-miles north of Shiprock turned us around.

:frightened:

Beautiful camp. Tell more about the dinner visit from the snake.

I set the dog dishes out and a half hour later I walked by them ––they were within about three-feet of a large crack in the rock and I was greeted with the sound of a revolver's cylinder being spun. But there he was giving me the warning.

I asked him to slither back in the crack and he complied. We spent two more nights there and if he ever poked his head out, we missed it.

We are still cleaning the dust out of the teardrop. did you get to Mulley Point to camp?

I was going to see how you liked Chaco, in two weeks is Overland Expo in Flagstaff, I took off a few days to go then decided we’ll go somewhere not so busy and expensive and was thinking Chaco. We are not sure yet.

We didn’t make it there. Next time.

We drove out to Muley Point but didn’t camp. We were staged in Butler Wash at that point. I think it was the same day we hiked into upper Johns Canyon.

That whole area between Bluff and St. George is one of my most favorites!! Lots of places/things to explore. Mind you I love just about all of UT, but that SE corner is wonderful. Several years ago we did a three week overland from Big Water (near Page) to Moab, with our tires only touching pavement for 6 miles total.
