Route 66 Rendezvous

Postby Leon » Mon May 15, 2006 2:23 pm

The Route 66 Rendezvous Cruisin' Hall of Fame Selection Committee has selected the Teardrop Trailer as an inductee to the Cruisin' Hall of Fame, during the 17th Annual Route 66 Rendezvous on September 16th, 2006. So-Cal Teardrops has been selected to accept the award on behalf of the entire Teardrop Community.

We would like to invite members from the Teardrop Community to share in the excitement. There will be space reserved in the Show and Shine area of Meadowbrook Park for Teardroppers to camp, show off their trailers and just have a good time. More details will be provided when they are available.

Please contact us at [email protected] or call (909) 590-2700 if you have any questions or if you plan to attend the event.

Yes, I'll be there. SoCal Teardrops has a number of free spaces if the tow vehicle meets the requirements of their normal entry years, etc. I think the cutoff year is pre 74, so I'll be taking the Chevy.

I haven't heard anything new, we're still thrashing to get the car put back together to tow down to that event.

Hey Gage, Lee from Florida (Road Trip) here. Heard my buddy Norm ran into you at the San Berdoo meet. Drove the old '32 out to the Roadster Show in June. A hot, expensive trip (gas prices). May be doing it again next year. That'll be my third headlight sticker if I make it. Norm said the Route 66 Rendezvous was really big. I'll have to put that on the list for the future. Take Care, see you out on the blacktop.

Lee
Happy Motoring!

Hello Lee, long time no see/hear. Yep, know about the gas. But look at it this way, it must have gotten cheaper as you headed east. It's running around $2.85 a gal. here now. I hear from Norm that the people with power won't let you retire. Isn't that the way it goes, you make plans to keep yourself busy in retirement and they keep calling you back. :? Route 66 was another story. Don't know if Norm told you but I picked up a '65 T-Bird for a $1000 with a 390 HP and C-6 trans with less than 3000 miles on them. It was a project car that the guy got bored with and it sat for four years. I've already sold the doors, front fenders and front bumper & grille and got my money back. Plus now I have a nice set of bucket seats for the wagon. That's where the eng. & trany is going.

Have a good day.
