No fair! You should not post a teaser like that. Now I am anxiously awaiting this recipe!

Sounds like everyone had a great time at the IRG. Wish we could have been there.

Courtney, I didn't know at the time you made that, but it was great! And I don't even like blueberries that much.

i'm operating without my computer, which is where i keep everything (unpacking. bleh.)...

this is off the top of my head:

2 cans blueberries in light syrup (not pie filling!)
1 bag sugar cookie mix
1 box white cake
1 stick (1/4 pound) butter
2 boxes cream cheese

mix the stick of butter and the sugar cookie mix together in a bowl and set aside.
dump the white cake mix in a 12 inch do.
mix in the juice from the blueberries (pie filling is too dense to do this easily)
...(but it's far from inedible)
pour 1 can of berries over the cake mix
slice up the cream cheese and cover the blueberries
pour the second can of berries overr the cream cheese
top with the butter/sugar cookie mix. (you can mush it into a solid mass, or leave it crumbly. doesn't really matter)
...(it's still edible)

bake for about 60 minutes with 15 top coals and 10 bottom. i added something like 4 or 5 extra on top for the last 15 minutes.

{from ria robitsch (i have to look up her last name) from redwood city}

i'll yank it from here and post it all formal when i can get my hands on my cook files and get the formal copy, which i'm guessing may be tomorrow.

i'm glad y'all liked it! i was a puddle of goo the first time i had it. and i'm getting pictures sorted now.

Courtney
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!
Hey... I got an email from Sharon Letts, the reporter that covered the IRG.
We were originally going to be in Monday's paper, but they decided to wait and put us on the cover for Tuesday's paper, but that got pulled, I think, because local environmentalist, Tim McKay passed away. Now they have us scheduled for this coming Sunday's paper (8-6) in the Life section, but...
They are also doing an additional story on dutch oven cooking in the Home section on 8-16. She said she got two recipes from ncdodave, but wants two more recipes.
I told her that I could submit the infamous BLT Pizza and the kids Cherry Garcia Ice Cream, both with pictures. Haven't heard back from her yet, but if you want, would you like to submit yours and we'll give her two deserts, the cobbler and the ice cream???

Dean,

I have a potato dish that gets raves every time I make it, so I have made it a lot. It's very simple to make and really tolerant of heat requirements. I have shared it here, but you can see it at http://www.blogicalthoughts.com/e107_pl ... iew.28.7.0

BTW, I'm glad IRG was such a success.

OK you two, send her something...
I sent her the pizza and the ice cream, but told het to use your recipes before using mine.
Courtney,
Been thinking about this all day since this morning...
I went and talked up your cobbler like you would not believe.
I realized later on this morning, that you have been practicing and perfecting the scones for a whole year now. I'll admit in a New York second, that I'd go for the cobbler before the scone, but... That health conscious thing inside me, won't extend itself onto the desert side of things. Don't let my weakness for the cobbler sway you from showing off the scones... You've worked long and hard on those.

Dean--

I prefer my scones with morning coffee and my cobbler with evening wine. 8) And Courtney did a great job with both. :applause:

I agree with Rob, post them both so I can try the cobbler/cheese cake while I'm eating the scones. ya I had to break down and get a DO after we got back home. (I don't know for sure why I got one, with all the great DO food there, all I really needed was a bigger fork!!)
