Thanks for the updated personal avatar, Kevin.............but your face is kinda hard to see.
Chris :D

Awww, Don't pout little buddy...
I don't quite have Courtney's touch yet on this one, but I'm gonna play with it some and when I get it dialed in, you'll be the first to know.
(Thinking about cutting back on the cream cheese just a tad, adding more liquid to the mix and upping the briquette ratio just a tad)

Dean,
before you cut the cream cheese compare the altitude where you are to where Courtney was.
You may want to add a blueberry yogurt cup to the mix instead of reducing th cream cheese.

Laredo,
We were at about the same altitude... Pamplin Grove is about 35 miles away from me.
The yogurt sounds like an interesting idea, but too late for tonight's experiment.
I'm gonna go with some ginger ale with just a little of the syrup from the blueberries and I'm gonna play with the cream cheese. Gonna turn that into vanilla cream cheese first, then pour it into the mix...
I'll post my results after supper.

Recently, Ginger Beer became available in a very limited way here. I discovered I really like it.

Hmm. Wonder what it would do in gingerbread / carrot cake?

Made this last night for dessert. Did not go well. Burned on the bottom and had trouble getting the middle done without burning the top. Used 8 coals on the bottom and 14 on the top. Hmmm... tasted good around the edges though. I think I will try using fresh blueberries and making my own syrup ( soda ) if I make it again.

Okay, so I am sitting at work drooling over my keyboard looking at this recipe, and those photos!! That's torture Dean! So then I start looking at dutch ovens on the internet, but I realize that there are a bunch of 12" DOs with different depths. Of course being a completely uninitiated DO person, I don't have the slightest clue which one to get. I know I am going to get a shallow 14" one, so I can practice making pizza in it (may even try that BLT pizza of yours Dean, and I'll probably smother it with Mayo  ). But now I want a 12" one as well, so I can make this cobbler. So Courtney, Dean, or someone else, please point me in the right direction here. I just have to try this recipe, and soon!!!

Amy,
Get the 12" shallow... better for browning the top of the cobbler.
Wanna really go ver the edge???
Check out my variation of this recipe...
