Freezing Eggs

Postby Rich S » Sun Jul 22, 2007 7:30 am

A lot of times when we go camping or floating I try to precook as much as possible. I then put it in ziplock bags or plastic containers and freeze it. It saves a lot of cooler space.
I also put eggs in the blender and then in plastic container. Has anyone ever tried freezing eggs? I am not sure if this will work. Right now I see no reason why it wont but want more info before I try it.

You can freeze eggs...either separate the whites and yolks and freeze separately, or beat them up as for scrambled eggs and freeze them like that. I've done it to save cooler space when I know I'm making breakfast casserole or chilaaquiles on a trip. More info here:

THANKS. I knew I came to the right place for information. Almost as much info as Google.
I allready mixed them up and put them in the freezer. We will see how it works next weekend. If everyone gets sick at PJ state park we will know what not to do the next time.
One more question. What type of wine goes best at a Pot Luck dinner? Ripple or Mad Dog 20-20.

If you freeze them in seal-a-meal bags you can make scrambled eggs in a pot of boiling water.
I know its the photographer, and not the camera. I'll keep shooting with a Pentax. Just in case.
