No Beer Bread but Yes Beer Bread

Postby doitright » Fri Jul 04, 2008 8:49 pm

We went camping at St. Joe State Park in Fl. for 10 days. We love beer bread and when it was time to make it we had no flour  . We were in a mess and supper about ready (a slow cooked stew). 23 miles to the store. So we had to do something and tried beer and waffle mix. It was great cooked very light and larger than with flour  . We used a Jimmy Buffet Lauger and Krusteaz Buttermilk Complete Pancakemix.

One bottle of beer 3 cups of self rising flour 30 min. in a 12 do. Cook with 15 coles on top and 8 on bottom. Just mix and cook. Great for soups stews. Makes a heavy bread and fast to make.
