Chocolate Martini

Vodka

Godiva chocolate

Baileys irish cream

Experiment with the amounts but about a shot of each

Shake them heavily in a martini shaker with ice

Pour into hersheys syrup laced chilled martini glass

Enjoy!!!!

My wife likes Mexican Martinis. It's basically like a margarita on the rocks but they give you the whole martini shaker to drink. She forgets what tequila to get so I have to remind her, either Patrón or Herradura.

Instead of the standard Triple Sec, I use a Mexican liquor. Controy, Licor De Naranjas. That bottle is getting empty, time for another run to Tiajuana. ;)

Mike, I love chocolate martinis! :applause: I like the idea of lacing the glass with the hersheys syrup, I haven't tried that before. I usually have mine with the rim of the glass dipped in Godiva cocoa. Yummy!!

Test drive
This was it, a full bore test drive of the chocolate martini.

Dinner began with a (Andrew note this) a fine selection of cheeses from Neal's Yard and a nice brie with crackers accompanied by a classic martini or Chateau St Jean Chardonnay.
Main course was Costco's best crab in garlic butter sauce with my outstanding Caesar Salad.

Being of the later generation, coffee was Trader Joe's French Roast Decaf.

Next up, the Chocolate Martini. (I have a lot of martini glasses)

Everyone loved the Choc, it scored well on taste but presentation lacked.
I tried but there was no way to make the choc syrup to laze about the martini glass, it ran to the bottom. I had visions of nice long curls of Godiva chocolate to decorate the glass. Try as I might, all I got was Godiva chips. What the hell, this was a party. Added Creme de Cacao to the mix. shook it, poured, added some more syrup and then a large dollup of vanilla ice cream, more syrup and select Godiva squares.

Was it good?? if I heard this in my bed, I would have felt like a god.

Presentation sucked (don't go there) but it was a massive winner.
Even tried it with gin. If you like gin, it is another winner

Hey Dennis, try putting the glasses in the freezer for a couple of hours before introducing the chocolate...............and wait until the chocolate is cooling, but just warm enough to pour. Maybe that would make it cling to the sides of the glass.............ya think?

The glasses were frozen. Maybe the syrup could have been cooled.thumbsup:
They still loved them no matter how they looked. :

I expect there will be further experiments seeking perfection.

Ron K would always soak the glasses in ice for a few minutes before he would dump out the ice and lace the glass with chocolate.

There's a definite science to it. If I ever get back to Ron's place I'll be sure to take my camera and make a photo essay for you...

Please do, they are great and deserve a better presentation I pulled off. I do suggest you try a couple of our amendments, we added cree De Cacao since someone brought it along and added a dollup of ice cream, just because.

Too bad you and I cannot make Minden for a Choc Martini contest. Maybe someone else will pick up the empty glass and do it for us.

moisten the rim with cream and dip it in cocoa powder like you'd salt a marnigrita rim
