Abalone... Yum!!!

I have taken a lot of Abalone over the years (but those times are long gone here in So. Cal. as taking Abalone is illegal now). I always felt that Abalone has very little flavor of it's own but takes on the flavors of the oil and breading/spices used to prepare it.

Hopefully the Abalone population will recover down here in the future. It was decimated by overfishing, warmer waters, and diseases that had previously been kept in check by the colder water.
