Would someone tell me what the correct term is for lemon peel shavings (yellow portion) in reference to recipes?

Here in the bunkhouse, we call it lemon peel shavings...

..so as not to get it confused with the stuff used to scrub our...um...elbows.

As a youngin', I was taught to use the white part of the lemon peel on my elbows too. :) The white part is bitter, so you don't want to put any of its shavings in any recipes...that you are "fixin" to eat :R .
