That's the key - use about half the ingredients you think you need and fry it crispy.

We use pita bread for ours. I like mine thicker so I use the whole thing and my wife likes hers thin so she cuts them in half. They work great and fit perfectly in the bottom of our dutch oven.

Looks like there is some great experimentation in store for us. I do want to learn how to do it at the campsite.
