First DO pizza

Postby DRYVEM » Thu Jun 01, 2006 10:23 pm

Made my first DO pizzas tonight. Used the inverted method, as I did not trust my ability to remove the pizzas from the deep oven intact. Made a total of four pizzas. (lots of teenagers to feed  ). Here are some pics.

The finished product. Yum!
Was lots of fun and the best part was the comment by my son's friend Michael. When I brought in the first pizza for them he said, " WOW! Barbara, you are a sweetheart." Made it worth the effort.

Congratulations on those DO pizzas. They look great! Once again we prove that almost anything can be made in a DO in the middle of nowhere.

Looks good Barb.
We tried one last week too, but we were so hungry we forgot to take pics.
We used store bought pizza dough that we should be able to improve upon with a little more effort. Next time we won't start after a long work day.
Take care,

So, do you have the recipe?

Dumb question I guess.

Make some dough, flatten it out. Pour on some sauce, cheese, peperoni, and other toppings! I'll try this with the kids to get them excited about the DO.

I'll report back! :R

Norma is the baker, but I think we'll try Dean's recipe for starters.

He seems to be getting it down, judging from the pictures he's been posting.

Chef Boy-R-Dean

8) Oh yah, the man has pizza in the DO down. Problem is it gets gulped down before pictures can be taken.

I have a recipe for pizza dough from Oprah's chef that I want him to try, along with a recipe for an artichoke, feta cheese, kalamata olives, tomatoes (with grilled chicken optional) that her chef "whips" up. Who needs a Rosie when you have a Chef-Boy-R Dean? :applause:
