Little Guy 5x10 on eBay - prototype?

Postby samstoybox » Thu Oct 27, 2005 11:17 pm

I ran across this auction tonight for a 5x10 aluminum sided classic tear for sale by the Little Guy Worldwide LLC in Ohio. It's listed as a Pleasant Valley but has a VIN number of LILGUY14 which I assume means it was made by Little Guy. Says there will be very limited production. Not a bad looking teardrop.

I'm wondering if they are thinking of getting into building more classic tears.

That is a nice looking tear..... almost has me thinking about getting one, if the price was right... maybe they are 'testing the waters' for a larger unit.. Limited production, unless it sells well..

Me likes!

If it wasn't 140 Miles each way, and I didn't have plans this weekend, I would go and check that out.

That's pretty close to what the Misses and I are looking for.

It looks alot like a Hunter. The interior with two shelves in the stern and one shelf on top of the sliding cabinets in the bow are identical to my Hunter. The galley with cabinets and battery on the lower right with a pull-out shelf for the stove is just like my Hunter. The doors are different, though. Coincidence?

I was thinking that it was a hunter. Maybe some hunter owners could chime in. Maybe this place is a Little Guy dealer that is selling this on consignment or something. The auction never states wether this was manufactured by Little Guy.

That dealership sells both Little Guy and Hunter. It is an auto dearlership and has two locations. I haven't received any answers from Joe Kicos the sales manager about this new product from pleasant valley. I do know that if you want to sell Little Guy's you have to go through him. It seems he has it tied up. I would like to know if he has taken a little bit of this and that and made what we see from pleasant valley? It is confussing :QM

I was seriously considering getting one of these. In talking to the salesman, he says that they have made 4 of these to sell on e-bay at a discount to get them in the market. I was told the reserve was only $4000.00. Not a bad price for a good looking tear. I decided against it beacuse its 2500 miles from me and I was having problems getting a straight answer on shipping. Oh, and at the beginning of this week he said he had 2 left.

Has any one gone to see it? Iwas wondering how well it was built.

I bought a Pleasnt Valley from him two weeks ago. Keith was very good to work with. We got a 5x8 model and I am very happy with it. I fit in the Pleasant Valley better than in the Little Guy. More floor space.

It is a light trailer but it is well built in my opinion. Towed very nicely. I was very happy that it came with a torsion axle. I'll post some photos once it stops snowing here and I can take some.

Didn't this tear get posted in another thread?

Anyways as I had noticed, I was wondering if this tear is located at Family Express in Canton (Little Guy dealer). They used to sell Hunters, but as far as I know no longer sell them? Who knows? Last I looked and the Hunter shows up on their page, but if you click on the small icon for Hunter, it brings up the Little Guy.

Anyways this looks EXACTLY like a Hunter HU-3.. maybe HU-4, same tongue, jack, caster wheel, fenders, side vents, underbunk storage and rear cabin shelves. the only difference is that this one has large square door(s) instead of the traditional curved doors on all other Hunters.

I am considering bidding on one of the Pleasant Valley teardrops (the retro style). Are you still happy with your purchase? This will be my first trailer of any kind. I am getting too old to sleep on the ground every weekend!

I'd really like to get a Camp-Inn... *sigh*

Thanks.

well I missed the opportunity to pick up the TD on ebay, but it'll be back up next week. I was still fence sitting, but think I am going to go for it (the Pleasant Valley retro 5 x 8). I need a hitch put on my vehicle so I can go pick it up. Where would y'all recommend I get one? I drive a Subaru Outback but the aftermarket Subaru hitch isn't the best. I'm also going to put a hitch for the TD on my company car ('06 Chevy Impala).

Thanks!

Sandy, here locally there is a large U-Haul dealer(district hub) and they have the best prices around on hitches/installation
...they aslo do a lot of installations so are experienced
..I have used them for the last 3 hitches I have had installed and am very satisfied with their work
...a lotta truck cumtomizers do hitch work as do RV dealers...so call around for the best price
...if you want to install it yourself...the same thing applies, for online availability, I would say use someone like www.etrailerpart.com but there are others
