CaseyKraft II For Sale --SOLD

Postby caseydog » Wed Oct 09, 2013 1:26 pm

CaseyKraft II is up for sale. $2,500 OBO. Since I bought the Mini Cooper, I haven't used it. Yes, I can tow it with the Mini, but I don't want to. I just don't want to spend 800 bucks and cut holes in my bumper to tow my TD a few times a year.

Here she is, in use. The umbrella and side table are included (not the grill or cooler). The doors are manufactured, and are the same as the doors on LittleGuy teardrops. Those are 15-inch wheels and tires.

Waterproof tongue box.

The sleeping quarters has carpet, curtains, and a 5,000 BTU air conditioner. Mattress/bedding not included.

Image

The galley has a 12,000 BTU butane stove. And a graphic of yours truly, which can easily be replaced if you wish.

Image

The galley includes storage for cookware and utensils.

Image

It has the patented (not) CaseyKraft super-simple electrical system with GFCI.

I don't know the weight, but I could barely feel it behind my Volvo XC70 or Audi A6 allroad tow vehicles. I'd guesstimate around 600 pounds.

Not sure if this is the same model Mini that you have but maybe there's a way to have your cake and eat it too.

I called the shop and they aren't able duplicate it and ship it. Also it was around $1200. Seems to me though that if they can do it someone with a saw, drill, and welder could make one like it.

Never give up, never surrender.

Cheers,

Gus

I think your camper has stood the test of time for durability and water tightness so it should sell pretty easily if that's what you think is best for you. I am wondering however why not include the bedding? It might be a nice selling point as a fully loaded, turnkey camper. The hundred bucks lost on the bedding that you would end up just storing anyway could mean a couple grand gained in a sale. Just a suggestion. :)

My "bedding" is a Thermarest air-bed that I will toss in with the TD, if that's what it takes to close a deal, but it may not be what potential buyers have in mind.

MY TD is what it is -- a very solid, tent on wheels. My build goal was "lightweight and strong," and IMO, I more than achieved that. I've camped in it through some horrendous weather. The sky is the limit as far as improvements the next owner can do to it.

Is this a 4 X 8 ? I looked at the journal, but must have missed it.

That is a very nice teardrop and a great deal for the asking price. I have camped with Caseydog several times and always admired his workmanship on the CaseyKraft. You will not be disappointed with this teardrop!!

Thanks Jerome. It's nothing fancy, but it has been tested by Mother Nature, and I'm still alive. :D

James, I will still be camping. I may just have to tent it for awhile. I'm still going to LCG, one way or another.

Bump! My price is still $2,500 OBO, and OBO means "or best offer." I am a very reasonable man. I'd like to see some offers.

This is a solid TD, with a lot of potential for greatness. I'll work with you if you can see the potential, too.

Okay, I can't build anything new until this one is out of the garage. $2,000 or best offer.

    Glen,
I've always admired the elegant simplicity of the CaseyKraft. A real bargain for a new teardrop enthusiast.

Does that mean a new plan is on the drawing board? 8)

Good luck with the sale! Whoever buys this is definitely getting a deal!

I'm in the same boat... Trying to sell and more than ready to start building another!

Not sure what is next. I'd like to do another build, and have some ideas, but of course, money plays a role in this play.
