First trip of the year

Postby David Niver » Sun Feb 06, 2005 6:21 pm

Well we went to the Rock Island State park in Tn this weekend.
The weather was great (60s in the day low 30s at night. The coldest trip we have done so far.
We ran the heater long enough to knock the chill off in the middle of the nite and in the morning to get dressed but that was it.
We had no problems finding a spot, I guess people don't like camping in Feb.
Cant wait till the next free weekend I'm ready to go again.

David,
How'd you like cooking breakfast out in the cold morning air? Or didn't it really bother you?
Our tear stays plenty warm inside, (it's completely insulated, all round)...but I REALLY hate going out to my "airy" kitchen when there's frost on the ground!

30s at night

David,

Glad you had a good time, and it's fun to hear about it, but I'm also glad it was you and not me....that's too cold for me!

As far as the kitchen first thing in the morning I got up opened the hatch and turned on the hot plate to start the coffee that was set up the night before and got back in the tear till I heard it was done, you can't do anything with out hot coffee.
By the time I got out and started on breakfast the colman stove and the hot plate got it warmed up a little I guess.
I'm glad it warmed up quick,by 9:00 it was in the 50s.
As far as the cold I was a year round Motorcycle rider untill last year.
David :)
