Non Metalic Corner Trim

Postby bdosborn » Tue Feb 08, 2005 2:55 pm

Instead of the standard aluminum corner trim, Steve used a garage door seal, which got me thinking. Seems like there must be a rubber seal out there made for exterior aplication that is flexible and glues well. I haven't looked at the garage door seal yet but the ones I've seen on the net aren't a right angle. Anybody have any suggestions? I sure like the idea of a rubber bumper on the corners instead of aluminum. It wouldn't work for the hatch but there's always aluminum for that.

Bruce

You're right, the one I used wasn't a 90, it was closer to 45. Since it's rubber, it bent easily into a 90 though. I looked at them at Lowes and HomeDepot. I got the one from Lowes, it was much nicer and thick. The ones at HomeDepot were real thin.

Ok, I found the bag it came in. It's made by md. It's a "rubber garage door bottom." It measures 16' long and is 1-3/8" x 2". Part #03749.

Guy points out a great source, but I think they only sold the stuff in 100' if I remember correctly?

Hi Dan,

The catalogue opened with adobe acrobat 5 at work but not with the version I have on my home pc. If you go to the site and try to open the product files it will automatically direct you to a free plug in download. I didn't bother last night...it was late.

Good luck, Mark
