Door latchs

Postby jlrelp » Thu Feb 10, 2005 4:40 pm

Hi all
Just got the door handles and latches from Li'l Bear

Questions there were no strike plates does the latch just use the inside side to latch to??

what is the best way ??

Thanks and have a good day

Check out this thread...

My photo-realistic shows the intended use of the door latch, against wood...

In Steve's photos you'll note that he added a strike plate made out of aluminum.

You can do it either way! :)

I just used a short length of 1" angle, contoured it with the grinder and drilled/countersunk a screw hole to mount. Works terrific and can't beat the price. It was an old bed frame someone gave to me and I knew there would be some use for it. Have enough left for about 50 more trailers. >grin<

If my tear were not covered up, I'd post a pic....

I took a regular door strike plate to get the rounded part where the latch hits... I re-bent it to make it fit my door opening... works fine...
