Pics of My TD Build - A Zephyr

Postby Dee Bee » Mon Feb 28, 2005 6:06 pm

As promised I was able to take some pictures of my first wall.

Please let me know what you think. I am interested in you comments about the profile shape. Any suggestions for this form of TD? I'd be glad to have you help me name this style. It isn't a Benroy, a Cubby, a Grasshopper, Modernistic, etc... What do you think?

I think I'll call it a Zephyr. Light, gentle as a breeze. I thinkn the point on the front suggests that it moves easily through the air.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my build project!

Nice. I thought the straight part on your tear would be a great place to put some aluminum diamond plate to help from rock chips. :)

I salute anyone that does this type of construction. I don't have the patience for that. :R

Keep chuggin' away at it.

Also, the name "teardrop builder, thinker, etc." doesn't have anything to do with your actual progress. It's based on the number of messages you've logged into this board. Trust me, I'm no teardrop master. ;)

I like your signature aspect.
Given that, I'd base the name around a Zeppelin or a Blimp.
The Zeppelin
Lil' Zeppelin
Lil' Zeppy
Lil' Blimp
TD Blimp
Dee Bee Blimp
Dee Bee Zepp
Pointer (Just thought I'd throw that one in)

Great idea. It would dress up the front and offer some protection, too. Thanks!

Dee,

It's looking great! I really like the lap joints on the frames. I'll be sure to use that idea on mine, hopefully I'll start my frames next week.

OPPS!

My server was down. If you looked for the updates of my TD you probably found the old info. The ISP has just come back online and I was able to post the new info and pics.

If you had trouble before, please try again at

Postby Dee Bee » Sat Mar 05, 2005 4:32 pm

I have two walls build and skinned with plywood on the exterior. Here are some pics of how I matched the sides with a router.
