is it almost 12 feet from the bottom front to the hatch hinge?

That's right, from where the front curve meets the lower edge (you can see the transition point) back to the hatch is 11feet 9 1/4inches. It'll be a little less without the lower curved front but it will still be more than 10 feet. You could run the sheet forward from the hatch and then add another short piece (at least 12") for the lower front and then run a piece of flat trim molding cross wise over the splice. I've seen tears this way and it's un-noticeable.

hey thanks for your help on this. it's starting to make more sense now and I have an idea for that front bottom... I'll be starting to put it all together in 2 weeks. have to go away for work.

any teardrops in Great Falls, MT??
