A garage-able standup

Postby TrailerWorks » Tue Sep 16, 2008 2:51 pm

Hey Folks,

Been away from the forum for a time. Thought I'd post up a few pics of my new toy. Really more of the wife's toy - she's a big fan of her own bath. It is 8' long x 6'-4" wide (cabin), 6'-2" standing height inside, 6'-10" exterior height, full galley, bath with shower, dinette that drops to a double bed. 1180 lbs. with full fresh/black tanks. The pan floor frame was a challenge!

Fun to build. Have not used it yet. Stay tuned.

floorplan

Postby TrailerWorks » Tue Sep 16, 2008 3:29 pm

Hi - not too tough to squeeze it all in. Here's a floorplan sketch...

I'll work on some interior photos soon - still finishing up some items, but it is done enough.

Frame

Postby TrailerWorks » Wed Sep 17, 2008 8:11 am

Hi,

We used a 2" C channel for the main frame with 3" C channel for the rails. The pan section is 1/8" steel with stiffener/skid rails underneath to keep it from "oilcanning" and for added protection underneath. The white section is etching primer for the acrylic paint for the shower. The pan is the shower floor. The rest of the pan gets marmoleum glued to it. The drop is about 6" total. I still get about 10" ground clearance. The axle is a 2000 lb. capacity rubber torsion that we ordered "turned down" to 1750 to soften the ride.

Interior Pics

Postby TrailerWorks » Wed Sep 17, 2008 8:33 am

Here are a couple of interior shots. Not completed yet - maybe this weekend. There are a half-dozen more pics in my gallery if you want to see them.
