General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

I showed the wife the pics of this one last night, she was most impressed by the small size/shape, that you could stand in it, and the shower/potty (of course)...then she gave me "that look"...I think she suspects another build... :o
Last night when the band came over ,they caught me looking at the trailer pics (this one).... told them was just checking it out...they said "Yeah right!!!! You're gonna' build another one,huh !!!!! Busted!!!!

Looks like there were no objections.... Storm season is basically over, so we can get down to a serious project in anticipation of the next Storm season... After hauling my Jayco FS (@3500+ lbs ) for 500 miles (Gustav) at 11.5 mpg , I think a lighter more aerodynamic trailer would do much better....Is this the one? ...or something very similar ....BIG THANKS to TrailerWorks for the inspiration....!!!!

Hi folks - I was out of town for a few days. Sorry I missed meeting you Ed. Glad you came by for a visit. And thanks for the kind words!

Bruce - the shower pan/shower floor is steel pan with a short length of 1/2" iron pipe welded to the sidewall of the pan with the hole flush with the bottom of the pan. It drains into a common grey water outlet. There is no integrated grey water tank. I really don't like to use them in the smaller trailers. What good is 5 - 7 gallons of grey water holding? I take a 20+ gallon wheeled tote tank and it works out well. As far as black water holding goes, I use a 7 gallon tank above the floor that a short-profile toilet drains directly into.

You're in GA? Can't be far - come visit and have a look!

Oh yeah - the quilted aluminum. It is just a piece of leftover mirror anodized aluminum that I work in the brake to "quilt". We make a lot of it for our restoration project. Pretty easy to do and looks great.

Dishwasher or oven?

Postby TrailerWorks » Fri Oct 03, 2008 5:59 am

The dishwasher is the guy taking the picture...

It is the AC/DC refrigerator. The halogen single burner cooktop is above it. There is no oven.

Everything is beautiful. Size, proportions, execution -- all perfect!

One thoughtful detail that I like is the tall faucet for the sink. Perhaps you thought of it since you are chief dishwasher! Even though the sink is small, it lets you wash larger items or even easily fill up a large pot with water for cooking.

It really is a stunning trailer--sort of a shortened/simplified T@B with plumbing facilities...

Your web link didn't work so I googled and found you here(right?)

this is a very well thought out design

Hi, Trailerworks. Hope you're still in business as this is an older thread. I love to camp at Hunting Island. We usually take the T@B. A guy stopped me in the parking lot of the Publix there last year and wanted to see inside my T@B. Said he was having a special unit made in Beaufort by you. He was a vet on a very expensive motorcycle.

Anyway I checked out your site when I got home and was very impressed with your units...again a mini T@B/Airstream design that I really like. If I get down to Hunting Island again this year (went four times last year) I try to find you guys in Beaufort and take a tour if it's OK.

I absolutely love this trailer. I have it as my wall paper.
I do have one problem with it though. If it's 6'4" wide how wide is the over all width.
Must be close to the 8' limit?
