Looks very similar to my Chubby :o . It's amazing how they look so much alike  . I wonder how many of these have been built as a first project.

Like you I am going to depart from the plans when I get to the galley. Don't know yet what but I to will "sit'n figure" till some inspiration comes along.

Right now I'm thinkin' maybe an Ice Chest on one side and Blue Wal-Mart water jug on the other side underneath the counter with a pull out Stove if there's enough room. Gotta do some figurin'

You're really lookin' good

Same wave

Postby jlrelp » Mon Mar 28, 2005 3:55 pm

Looks like we are on the same wave .

will have a ice chest with 4 gal water jug and on the side will be a drawer with a door below it. that is all the room .

Did not want to make lot of drawers more you have the more stuff you want to put in.

Also, Drawers take up space. I've used plastic shoe boxes from Big Lots (79 cents each) to sort and stack things in my Aliner. Works and is very adaptable to the situation.

John,
Great to see you're nearing the end of your project. Guess you got that aluminum tackled on the outside of hatch?

Looks really good. I'm hoping to pull ours out and go camping one day next week if the weather cooperates here in Michigan.

I originally put my water jug in the galley until after the first trip. Also made shelves instead of cabinets and just set them in place till after my first trip out. Then I had a better idea of what I wanted and lowered the top shelf and decided to carry the water jug in the back of the pick-up. I then used that real estate for a deep cycle battery and shelf for more canned goods. Camped in the drive way a couple times after building but it's not like being in the wilderness for a week or so.

John,

How does the hatch prop work for you? How long is it? I'm thinking that's the way I'll go for mine.
