Anybody ever use these lights?

Postby Scooter » Tue Jun 15, 2004 9:33 pm

These lights from JC Whitney appear ideal for a teardrop. Anybody ever use them? Do you think they'd adequately light the inside of a conventional teardrop? I have no idea, have only ever seen one teardrop in person, so any advice is welcome. Here's the link: JC Whitney interior RV lights

Hey Scooter,

They should work well. I've got two of the aircraft style socket lights in our tear and they are perfect. Got them from JC Whitney, too.

Hi Scooter,
I used a similar rv light in the interior and the hatch (the bottom light in the pic). You should have no problem. I did replace the interior bulbs with lower amp ones and it puts out good light to read by.

Uuuuummmmm ... well since mine is a low-tech tear and I'm using it for Scout Camping ... I didn't wire up any lights. I just put in a small screw in the sidewall and mounted one of those push-on push-off lights powered by 4 AA batteries. Gives off more than enought light and I can even read if I wish. I guess thats one advantage of not using any plans of any kind ... you just kind of make up things as you go.

Well ... OK ... maybe thats just me.  8)
