Hi Folks,
I just wanted to publicly thank Courtney for letting me check out her teardrop earlier this week. She's listed here in the hall of fame and then I found out she lives just around the corner from me. I also found out that she's moving to the left coast in a week or two. As we discussed, her
move is early enough to keep her from taking part in the east coast events, but not early enough to let her take part in west coast events. Still, from my point of view, the timing was at least okay. If she'd moved two weeks earlier, I wouldn't have had a chance to actually see a teardrop before starting to build one.
I do regret that they're moving since she and her "building assistant" seem like really nice folks.
One really fun part about seeing the trailer is that some of her neighbors came over and introduced themselves. Apparently they'd been checking out the tear in the parking lot and had been very curious about it and were thrilled to be able to see inside and ask questions about it. (It's funny to me that because of the hall of fame here I knew more about the history of this teardrop than the people living next to it.) They also sized me up (I'm 6'6") and were amazed when I said I could lie down inside it. Courtney was very modest, but pleased by the attention, as she should be. One of the neighbors even commented that this must have been built by someone else -- surely because it looks so clean, finished, and professional.
Thanks Courtney, and happy trails.
