The fellow lives 15 minutes from me, really nice guy. I spoke to him before the end of the auction and he agreed to store the trailer for me until the end of October (after I have closed on my house) in exchange for a little web design work.

I actually paid $5.50 for this great find!

Hmmm, a 4' wide trailer. I didn't realize you were going small again!!! So what are you going to build on top of that?

Mike...

Actually the base of the bed was always going to be four feet. I was going to run a few wide crossmembers on top to get the width I want.
Whatever I build will have the wheels tucked up underneath the body.
I will be changing out the axle to dropped axle, which, for a 48" wide frame will have a 61" hub face to hub face measurement.
So when the tires are mounted the overall width will be 73". If I go for a body 6.5' wide, it will leave me 2.5" of clearance on with side.
So you see, it is perfect for my needs.
