AC outlets...

Are the AC outlets at campground standard outlets? In other words can I just plug a regular extension cord in to one?

Every campground I've been to has both the stanard outlet and also a 30 amp outlet. I have an adapter in my tool box that'll take it down from a 30amp to a standard outlet, but I've never had to use it yet!!!

One park I went to only had the 30amp outlets but the park store sold the adapters for 3 bucks. Haven't needed it since but it's probably a wise idea to carry one just in case.

The circuit breaker box that I picked up is a 60 amp. Supports two breakers. I have a double 15 in one slot using 30 amps and was thinking about putting a 15 in the other slot. I was going to feed both seperatly using a 30 and 15 amp cord respectivly with the hope that most park boxes had the 15 and 30 amp recepts. Any thoughts or suggestions on this design? Would I even need that much capacity? I am planning on AC (Small 5k btu), small TV/DVD combo and possibly a small 110 refrigerator. All of my lighting is going to be 12v fed by the battery.

you should really get more info on electrical wiring before you run the set up you described..a 60 amp main breaker needs something like 8 gage wire for a feed and you really cant wire that to a plug...and odds are the campground is running 12 gage for a 20 amp breaker to the site..I'm not an electrician but Ive run some wire in my time and that 60 amp main could cause you problems..Im wiring my Tear for 110 using a 20 amp main for a cooler and not much else all wiring will be 12 gage..lights will run off the battery..
