I actually love the idea aesthetically and from a green POV.

I just think, especially with the idea of leaving the longer length, so little of the total weight is behind the axle, if only one is left there. Lots of vehicles are pretty limited ball weight was the point of my "negativity".

With a strong enough tug I guess no worries, or for those not also wanting a lot of load capacity.

It oes sure make a sexy little tiny-house / steel tent.

...and is pretty weatherproof too so can live outside ...

The ones we participated in were not minivan conversions but full size vans (chopped ) ... one a 60 ’s Econoline with an extended areas behind the rear wheels which made the balance situation all the better ... gave lots more room inside too ...

A Quick Google of Vans into trailers images will give you many examples ... like this one ... ( see pic ) https://tse3.mm.bing.net/th?id=OIP.IU6u ... h&pid=15.1

I am just starting a redneck flat bed trailer to haul 4x8 sheeting, using a minivan floorpan and axle.
Cutting the roof off above the sidewalls and remove side doors.
Cutting the front of the floor pan, Just in front of the rear seat bolts(a strong point with cross beam).
Angling the sides to get behind the door pillars.
Then planning to bolt square tubing for a V style tongue.
Today I cleaned out the inside plastic, carpet, seat belts remove the quarter glass, and cut the back four pillars.
Will get back to you guys. on the finished trailer.

The main problem of a minivan floorpan in the axle placement. It make for a heavy tongue.
But if mounted the galley floor on a hitch storage rack it would solve the weight problem.
I will be better informed after I cut the van up.
