Teardrop Rentals?

Postby Esteban » Wed May 17, 2017 4:45 pm

Is there much demand for teardrop rentals? Does anyone have teardrop rental experience or knowledge to share? Your experience either as a teardrop owner who rents out your teardrop or as someone who rented a teardrop for your own use would be helpful.

Googled "teardrop trailer rentals".

It would be a great way to try it before buying or building. Great list. This would make a good sticky.

I had no idea that there were so many teardrop rental companies. Thanks, Steve! :applause:

My sister and I rented from Happy Campers when I was deciding whether or not to buy. We spent a couple days at a campground near Sacramento and talked it out - were we comfortable, where would we go, what would we take with us. It was a great base to start looking for a teardrop to buy.

Seven or so years ago we rented a basic Little Guy five wide for a three-day weekend from YouCampWeRent.com in Burnet*, TX. We were headed to Abilene, TX for the weekend, so it wasn't out of the way from Austin to pick it up. They are still renting a T@G Basic and selling T@Gs, T@Bs, Little Guys and MyPod. If you go to their Web site, click on the Camper Rental tab.

We loved the trailer, but it did adversely affect mileage on our Mazda MPV.

*As any local will be glad to tell you, Burnet is pronounced Burn-It, not Burr-Nett.

Well I am just starting out but probably the most useful info I can say is before you start find insurance that will cover you, it is hard to find and will be your biggest expense. Other than that coming from a guy who is in a tourist area people seem to like the idea I launched a month ago with one rental unit and I have about four weeks rented out for the season so far.
