Bed platform

Postby davidAndshannon » Thu Jan 25, 2018 9:31 am

We are thinking about building a platform for our fold up foam bed/couch to create space underneath the bed for storage. Has anyone else done this and if so can you share photos or instruction for building a bed platform in a teardrop?

We bought a tear drop that was already built in October and are getting ready for our first trip!

Thank you,

Shannon

The reason that I would not raise the bed is that the headroom is already limited. It is already hard enough to get dressed/changed sitting on the bed without cutting another 5 or 6 inches out of the headroom. Some people who have a folding mattress that doubles as a seat have put in a dropped floor as a seating footwell, and that type of construction would keep the bed at floor level. The construction of a dropped floor is shown in this thread... http://tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=44091&start=75

Our Teardrop has already been built so I am not sure we could create a dropped floor at this point.
