We use a cooler to keep food and drink cold not to just hold ice. We have a Rtic 45 and it works well but I thought my ice buying days while camping were over seeing the reviews and all the hype. Sure a long weekend trip starting with block ice no problem. On a week long trip to Death Valley we were buying ice every few days but we did use a lot in our drinks and Camelbacks.
My neighbor borrowed my Rtic cooler for a party along with his Yetti and it did just as well as the Yetti. For less than half the price.
Oh, and to your question we have a 45 quart and I would not go any smaller. And if I was doing it again I use skip the cooler and put that money into a 12v refrigerator/freezer.
Have good trip.

I realize that the 10 days is nothing but ice, but even with just ice my current cooler gets 3 days before water is warm without opening it once.
As for the 12v fridge, won't work. Out of everywhere id be camping, there is maybe 1 or 2 areas with power hook up, and id rather not run a generator all day.
I will go with the 50 over the 30 though. I could also buy a cheap cooler to fill with nothing but ice for in the truck box if i need to.
