SC, we’ve been making our own brand of Bay Rum , that actually keeps the bugs away , is really good for your skin ( all natural ingredients, My dermatologist approved ) and you smell really Good too… like a spicy Cookie …. women love it , probably Bears love it too …

I tried a simple solar shower at WTW. Nothing more than a thick black bag holding about 5 gallons max. I put 2-3 gallons in it each day. It actually had plenty for the Princess Helper and I to take quick, decent showers and know the sweat off.

From what I understand about deer fly entomology, they like

1) Shiny things
2) moving things

i've yet to sit perfectly still dressed in camo in the middle of a field to test this, but anyone else is welcome to try. Or, just wrap some duct tape around your hat - the shiny stuff. doesn't help with black flies or mosquitoes though.
