Window too big? 47x20

Postby bkapps » Fri May 10, 2019 8:14 pm

Hi all!

I am new here so if there is already a post about this topic please direct me. I have a salvage window I was going to use on my 5x8 build that is 47x20 inches. I am using the sandwich method for the walls with 3/4 inch plywood in the middle. Do you think this would compromise the structure? Thanks.

My side windows are 40+ inches long (don’t remember exactly) and there are no structural issues. I built using the sandwich method too, but with 1x3’s instead of plywood. Your structure will be even stronger.
