The Polydrop: A new manufactured design

Postby JuneBug » Sun May 12, 2019 6:45 pm

Another unusual design: The Polydrop

According to the manufacturer: "This is not a camping trailer. It's your own space that you can travel with."

Alrighty then. But SRSLY, it's an angular teardrop, 48" wide* and accessed by gull-wing doors with a kitchen in the back.

You can check it out here. The Polydrop

*edited to remove "nice queen bed". The subsequent poster notes that it's only 48" wide, so no queen bed. Epic mistake on the part of the designer, IMHO, for a trailer this expensive.

Wonder if they went narrow to keep the weight down and make it more aero, to allow towing by 4-cylinder cars.

I find two things curious about it.

First, the doors are set too far forward which tells me that this is the designer's first 'drop.

Second, the thing is bouncy on the dirt road. They're running the (in-vogue) Timbren axles. Is that the Timbren's talking or are the rubber bushings too stiff for the trailer weight?

Innovative? You betcha.
